Eclipse at Moonrise

A partially eclipsed Moon rises over the wooded hills of Kent. This was as far as the Moon was covered by the Earth's shadow, just 19%.

Normally an eclipse of such insignificance would hardly warrant attention, but when caught at the moment of moonrise it becomes a interesting and beautiful sight. This was the closest Full Moon of 2006 and the very low altitude reveals some interesting atmospheric phenomena too. Click the picture or here for details and further pictures.
